We may be a small school but together we achieve great things!
On Friday 3rd December, every member of School came in wearing blue to raise money for Team Seas. Team Seas is a charity which raises money to remove plastic from our oceans.
For every £1 raised, approximately 1lb of plastic will be removed from the oceans. We were able to raise £110, which when converted into $s will help remove 149lbs of floating waste. Over the following weekend, the children made sea creatures with plastic from their household recycling bins and brought them into school for a competition. Our impartial judge had an extremely difficult time picking winners from all the wonderful sea creatures that came in, as the standard was incredibly high and we were all really impressed with the creativity that went into the 3D models.
Thank you so much to parent, Verity Lowdon and the North Newton Primary School PTFA for organising this fundraiser. The £110 raised is on its way to #TeamSea. Not bad for a small school.
