All children, please read your online ebook with a grown up (if possible, I know many parents will be remote working). Remember the way we are all learning to read using expression! Perhaps you could draw a picture (Reception) about it and Year 1, draw a picture and write a sentence about your favourite part/page?

Reception Phonics

Reception – read and practice all tricky words. Can you write them in all different colour to help you learn to write them?

Year 1 Phonics

• Please complete your spelling test and upload your score onto Seesaw for us to see.
• New spellings (Ed these are attached) please read these with a grown up. These spellings are all being taught through phonics in the week after half term so may be unfamiliar – dont worry! When your child reads the word, check they know what it means/put it in a sentence.
• Please practice your mental maths challenges.
• Addition and Subtraction word problems:

Work through the word problems – decide which operation you are doing – addition or subtraction. Think carefully about the language in the word problem. We have talked about this lots in school this week. If you can, use everyday objects to help you add/subtract.

Miss Bagnall will add some PSHE activities on Foxes class page which will be suitable for both Reception and Year 1.
