Oracy skills are essential as they lay the foundation for effective communication and learning. They enable pupils to express their thoughts and ideas clearly, engage in meaningful discussions and build confidence in expressing themselves. Oracy skills are crucial for academic success, as they facilitate comprehension and understanding of complex material. They also foster critical thinking, social skills and prepares pupils for future careers by enhancing their ability to communicate effectively in various contexts.
